Project Summary
  • Clinical Officer surgical training in Africa (COST-Africa) is a research project which has received funding from the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 266417
  • It designed, implemented and is currently evaluating a scalable Clinical Officer (CO) surgical training programme in Malawi and Zambia
  • The result will be proof-of-concept that surgery can be delivered cost-effectively, safely and bring important health benefits to patients attending district hospitals in these two countries
